Paul Jeffery

I completed my training in Clinical Psychology at the University of Western Australia in 1999, and have worked as a Clinical Psychologist in public mental health services and in private practice for the past 20 years. My principal area of practice has been with children, adolescents and families, however I also had the opportunity to develop my clinical practice with adults while working in Oxford, UK from 2002-2004.  I was Chair of the WA Branch of the Australian Association for Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for two years, and currently provide some teaching for the UWA Postgraduate Clinical Psychology training, and to the Child and Adolescent Health Service Psychiatry training program. I have an active interest in clinical supervision.

Models of Practice

My clinical practice puts emphasis on the formation of a safe, ethical therapeutic relationship to facilitate collaborative and goal-directed therapy. My practice is informed most heavily by Cognitive Behaviour Therapy where it is indicated, as well as other models / approaches related to Interpersonal Therapy, Attachment Theory and Mindfulness where they are indicated.
